The Beaty Centre for Marine Biodiversity

Located in the Steele Ocean Sciences Building, the Beaty Centre for Marine Biodiversity will welcome visitors from Dal and beyond to explore the wonders of our ocean and the marine life found in our region. Fall 2025 is the target opening date for the Beaty Centre.

The Aquatron Laboratory

The Aquatron is Canada’s largest university aquatic research facility and a hub for global marine research.

The Greenhouse

Our eighth floor greenhouse is used by students for hands-on experience in plant biology, population genetics and evolutionary change (and offers a great view of the Atlantic Ocean).

аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±'s Outdoor Ecolab will be the first outdoor classroom on campus. The classroom will be located outside of the Life Sciences Centre.

The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Research Resource

The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Research Resource (NMR3) is a diverse NMR centre, located in the chemistry building, with outstanding staff and instrumentation for liquids and solids ranging from 300MHz to 700 MHz.
