Daily Pomodoro focused work sessions (year-round)
The Writing Centre offers daily group online writing sessions every weekday morning from 10:05-10:55 a.m. (Atlantic Time). Join Writing Centre staff members, students, and other members of the Dal community to set writing goals and write against the clock in two 25-minute bursts to help you get started on your writing day. No preregistration or commitment is necessary. Come to as many or as few sessions as you like!
Weekly workshops (fall and winter terms)
The Writing Centre offers free online workshops to all аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½± and Kingʼs students on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2–3 p.m.
Note: Workshops can be arranged by request in the Spring and Summer term.
Topics include:
- Writing Quickly in Class:ÌýEffective In-Class Writing Strategies
- Critical Thinking for Research
- Putting Words Together: Sentences and Clauses
- Putting Words Together: Paragraphs
- Finding your Voice: Building confidence as a scholarly writer
- Writing the Literature Review
We also offerÌýweeklyÌýGradPD workshopsÌýin partnership with the Faculty of Graduate Studies and hold aÌýGrad Writing WeekÌýfour times a year: next session is June 9-13, 2025.
