The position requires active and committed involvement in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students. The successful candidate will be encouraged to apply for a cross-appointment with the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology or another graduate degree program, which will provide the opportunity for graduate student supervision, teaching, and collaboration. The position involves some contribution to administration and service at the departmental, university, and national levels.

The candidate鈥檚 academic qualifications must include a PhD degree in Epidemiology or a related area with demonstrated evidence of research in pediatric or perinatal health research. The proposed program of research should be in population health research, infectious disease epidemiology, clinical epidemiology, or quantitative health policy evaluation. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to independently conduct research in their field and have the potential to attain regional and national funding to support that research. The capacity to engage in collaborative projects and expertise using large databases will be considered strong assets.
