As previously updated, John (Caleb) Gibbons (MBA'90) finally returned from Japan to Canada in 2021 to join CBU as a finance lecturer. Caleb has since assumed the role of CEO for Sydney Credit Union in Cape Breton, N.S., where he just completed his first year in the position.

Caleb and his wife Kazuyo had further reason to celebrate in June 2025 with the Rothesay Netherwood School (RNS) International Baccalaureate graduation of their daughter Cara Gibbons. This marked RNS's 148th closing ceremony. Cara graduated with distinction and won both the King Constantine and the Paddy McAvity Memorial Prize (a.k.a. "Top Girl") medals. Cara will undertake her undergraduate studies at аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½± in the Medical Sciences program for the 2025/2026 school year, with an eye to a future career as a pediatrician.
